Top 3 Misconceptions about The Harden
1."There’s no parking."
Residents at The Harden will enjoy the convenience of a private parking garage, directly attached to the building. This dedicated garage is designed with our senior residents in mind — just walk right into the building!
P.S. Visitors to the Public Market will have their own separate parking as well—no need to worry about finding a spot!
2. "It’s going to be way too loud living next to the highway."
We hear you — and we've solved it.
At The Harden, we’ve gone above and beyond to ensure a peaceful living environment, even with our proximity to I-30. Every window facing the highway—from levels 2 through 6 — is equipped with high-performance, STC 38-rated windows. These soundproof windows are specifically designed to reduce traffic noise dramatically, creating a serene, comfortable home.
What does STC 38 mean?
STC stands for Sound Transmission Class—a measure of how well a window (or wall, door, or ceiling) can block airborne sound. A typical single-pane window has an STC rating around 27. Our STC 38 windows provide significantly greater sound insulation, helping block out traffic, sirens, and other urban noise.
What makes these windows so effective?
It’s not just thicker glass—it’s smart design:
Double panes with a layer of insulating gas (like argon or krypton) for added sound dampening and energy efficiency
Tightly sealed construction that eliminates gaps where sound can slip through
Specially engineered glass designed to absorb vibrations and reduce noise

3. "It’s unaffordable."
Fort Worth is experiencing a serious shortage of senior housing. In the past four years, less than 4% of the city’s multifamily building permits have been for senior-specific communities. That limited supply drives up prices and limits options.
At The Harden, our apartments are market-rate—not income-restricted or subsidized. But that doesn’t mean we’re not part of the solution. Every new senior-focused development helps increase supply, which in turn expands options and relieves pricing pressure across the city.
More availability = more affordability over time.
We’re proud to be part of a long-term effort to make senior living in Fort Worth more accessible, while offering a thoughtful, community-oriented experience for aging adults. Because everyone deserves dignity, connection, and a home they can afford.
